Boxed Crawler

Rig ID:CPT 30
Make/Model:CPT 100 Boxed Crawler
Mounting:Track mounted

The Boxed CPT Crawler is a ballasted-track unit for efficient Cone Penetration Testing (CPT). This next generation CPT crawler is designed for low running costs, optimal production and is rail track ready. The CPT Crawler is characterised by its compact design, low fuel consumption due to auto idle and low engine speeds and low ground pressure.

Benefits at a glance

  • 20 tonne push capacity
  • Compact and powerful
  • Detachable CPT tower
  • Easy to transport
  • State-of-the-art operating system
  • Different engine options available

The Eijkelkamp Geopoint SoilSolutions Boxed Crawler CPT100 is a state-of-the-art CPT rig that contains everything to make the CPT operations easy and efficient under all terrain conditions. The Boxed Crawler CPT100 unit is designed according to the latest technical standards. To comply with different emission regulations applicable worldwide it is powered by a Stage V, Tier 4F diesel engine.

All functions of the Boxed Crawler CPT100 are operated from a PLC touch screen with a manual override for several functions, while driving and levelling can be performed using a remote control system. The hydraulic system is load sense controlled and designed for minimal power requirements. With the Boxed Crawler CPT100, high production rates can be achieved with the installed CPT pusher, all in a comfortable and air-conditioned working space.

Track-Mounted Compact Crawler

Rig ID:CPT 28
Make/Model:CPT 200 Compact Crawler
Mounting:Track mounted

The Compact Crawler CPT series is a small, but powerful unit to perform CPT even at places where only narrow access is available. In addition, it is light enough to be transported in a small van or trailer. The required reaction force is generated through four ground anchors that can be installed with the drill motor mounted on the crawler. For use in basements or places where it is not possible to use the complete unit due to accessibility, noise or exhaust gases, the CPT pusher can be removed from the unit and bolted to a floor. The Compact Crawler CPT will then power the CPT pusher remotely as a hydraulic power pack.

For CPT in even more confined spaces or where noise and/or exhaust gasses are problematic, the pusher can be detached from the crawler and then anchored in place using a (ground or wall) frame. The crawler will then be connected to the pusher through hydraulic hoses. Alternatively the pusher can be connected to a separate electric power pack.

The required reaction force is generated through four ground anchors that are driven into the soil with the rotary head mounted on the crawler. This head can provide a torque of approx. 2,800 Nm (2,065 ft-lbs) and various helix diameters (ranging from
200 mm (8 in) to 450 mm (14 in)) are available to provide the optimum equipment set-up for the anticipated soil conditions.

The Compact Crawler CPT200 has a hydraulic clamp in its automated CPT pushing rams, which, upon request, can be replaced by a robust ball clamp. The crawler has also a 12 VDC outlet to charge the laptop battery.
The crawler can move at two speeds: 2.5 km/h and 4.1 km/h. A driver’s platform is provided to allow the operator to drive the rig safely.
